The AMB KRESS spindle is a brushed universal spindle. This type of spindle is like the power tools you will see in a hardware store. However, the AMB KRESS has been specifically designed as a milling spindle for CNC routers. We use the AMB KRESS extensively in our higher end production machines with great success. 

• The AMB KRESS spindle is a brushed universal motor. After 500-1000 hours the brushes will wear out and you will need to replace them. We supply AMB KRESS brushes.
• The spindle is a single phase 220V AC spindle
• Speed is controlled on the spindle itself via a adjustment dial
• The spindle can be controlled for on/off from the CNC controller, however this requires additional options accessory (switchable socket) to allow the CNC controller to turn on and off the power to the KRESS.
• It is our experience that the AMB KRESS spindle is THE best entry level spindle for cost / performance / value ratio.  
• The AMB KRESS 1050-1 model uses its own collet system and you must purchase these collets.
