Double Flute Down-Cut High Quality, 1/8in D X 1/2in L X 1/4in Shank - IN - 82077010

These cutters are coated with anti-stick, heat resistant coating. The coating results in safer, cleaner and quieter cutting as well as longer cutter life. The cutters have computer engineered shear and radial relief angles for optimal chip removal and greater cutting efficiency. Straight dual fluted cutters can be used for plunge cutting, grooving, slotting, mortising and general milling applications. The down cut spiral provide a smoother top surface edge finish, but cut more slowly due to the helix spiral direction and cannot be ran as hard as up cut cutters. The down cut spiral pushed the chips down into the work and therefore requires a slower feed rate and leaves a smoother machined edge.

The Double Flute Down-Cut High Quality, 1/8in D X 1/2in L X 1/4in Shank is a general purpose down cut cutter. 

• !/4 inch (6.35mm) shank requires a 1/4 inch (6.35mm) collet to load the tool
• The cutting diameter is 1/8th inch (3.175mm) 
• The cutting depth is 1/2 inch (12.7mm)
• This cutter works well in wood and plastics and gives a good top surface finish
• As with all down cut cutters - care should be taken when milling deeper than the diameter of the cutter
